Hello Four Peaks Families,
My name is Yesenia Braaksma, and I am excited to be part of the Four Peaks family as the school principal. A little about myself, I am a 5th generation, Arizona native, born and raised in Mesa. I am married with three young adult children. I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family.
For the past 18 years, I have worked in the field of education as an educator and administrator. This is my fourth year as principal at Four Peaks Elementary. My education career began in the Gilbert school district as a paraprofessional working in the Special Education department. There I found my passion for teaching students. I continued to pursue my teaching degree at ASU, earning my bachelor's in Elementary Education. My first teaching job led me to Coolidge, Arizona teaching sixth grade. The following year, I continued my journey in the Higley School District as a teacher, mentor, athletic coach, and an interim Principal. In addition, I had the opportunity to help open a new elementary school and implement several new programs that would enrich and engage students. I continued to further my career in education at ASU, earning my master’s degree in Educational Administration with Principal ship certification.
I am a visionary leader who believes in building strong relationships with all stakeholders. I believe in the importance of providing opportunities for all students to achieve academic and emotional success. My goal is to prepare students to be creative problem solvers, and to guide them to reach their full potential. Additionally, I want to ensure that students are given the skills necessary to be successful in the 21st Century.
I am excited about the opportunity to build a partnership with families, teachers, and the community; that allows your child to grow in an environment that is positive, supportive, and engaging. Above all, I would like to provide the best education possible for all learners at Four Peaks Elementary.
Sincerely,
Yesenia Braaksma
