8:30-9:00 Calendar and Opening

9:00-9:30 Shared Reading

9:30-10:30 Guided Reading and Centers

10:30-11:00 Handwriting/Journals

11:00-11:50 Lunch

12:00-12:30 Rest Time

12:30-1:00 Math

*1:10-1:40 Specials (Library, Music, P.E.)

1:45-2:15 Math/Computers

2:15-2:45 Science/ Social Studies

2:45-2:50 Clean up and closure

3:00 Dismissal

** We have one special each day.  It is library, music, or P.E. on a rotating basis.  Art is integrated into our curriculum. 

We have Reward Friday from approximately 1:50-2:30 each Friday.  Those who make good behavior choices throughout the week and have their weekly homework turned in may participate.  We generally have an extra recess or center time.  Sometimes we do a special art or science activity. 

I like to do thematic units with the kids.  We often integrate reading and science, writing and reading, etc.  so the times listed above are subject to change depending on the material we are studying. 

I can always use parent volunteers to assist in the classroom- or out of the classroom with clerical needs.  If you are interested in helping one or two days a week (or even a month) please let me know.  Helping at school helps your child see value in education.  I would love to have you!
