Meet Mrs. Cartmell

Hi, and welcome to our kindergarten web-site!  My name is Patti Cartmell.  I am an Arizona native.  I was born and raised in Globe, Arizona.  Both of my parents were teachers, so I guess you can say that it is "in my blood" to be a teacher too!

I received my B.S. degree in Psychology and a minor in sociology   from Northern Arizona University in 1989.  In 2000 I received my  teaching certificate in Elementary Education after completing the Post Baccalaureate  program at Ottawa University.  I also am a CLIP certified teacher.  CLIP is a reading intervention method that allows me to help struggling readers learn the skills they need to succeed.  I also have received my Early Childhood Endorsement and have become a facilitator in the Apache Junction School District for the 21 Keys for High Performance Teaching and Learning program.  I am continuously learning and looking for new and exciting ways to teach.

I have been a teacher at Four Peaks for the past 8 years.  Two years were spent in first grade and six years have been in kindergarten.     Kindergarten is definately my favorite grade to teach!

I am married and have a 14 year old son.  We live in East Mesa.  When I have spare time, I enjoy family time, visiting my family cabin in the White Mountains, fishing, singing, watching movies, NFL , and just relaxing with friends.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with you and your child this year, and it is my goal to help make kindergarten a wonderful experience!  If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail or call me at any time.
