Classroom Rules
I treat myself, others and property with respect.
I follow classroom and school procedures.
You will receive a weekly behavior report on Friday in a "Friday Folder." This communication will encourage your child to do his/her best and also feel successful. The students are rewarded for positive choices in behavior on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
The discipline plan used in our room is a form of Assertive Discipline using a "stoplight" system. Each day begins with the child starting on a green light. Each child has his/her own stoplight on a chart that helps to remind the child of his/her chosen behavior as follows:
Green Light- Acceptable behavior; Super, keep it up!
Yellow light- Warning! Unacceptable behavior. No consequence but needs to change the behavior.
Double Yellow light- Child is sent to "think it over" chair for a short period.
Red light- An alert to a serious behavior problem. The child is sent to "Think it over" chair and recess time is used to reflect on the behavior issue. Parents will be notified.
