Greetings One and All,
This page is to let you know a little bit about my self! Teaching has been a part of my life for 21 years now. This job has become most of my life, and I believe it has made my life better! Rest assured, all the things we do in this classroom are designed to help students become better learners and people!
At home, I am the mother of a 14 year old boy named Travis! Though this year has been a little more difficult as a mother. Not because my son is in the teenager years, but because my son moved to Montana with his father over the summer. Thus I am a single person all over again. Now that's quite a change!
I've enjoyed many activities in my life! One of my favorite things to do is write! When I say write, I don't mean grocery lists or quick reminder notes for myself. Nope, I mean writing stories, poetry, and journaling! All of your students will be journaling throughout the school year! Wouldn't it be great if you parents could journal as much as your children? Let me know if you want to, and I will give you some pointers!
Another activity I truly enjoy involves cars, planes, trains and even buses! Yes, if you've guessed it, I loooove to travel! Sometimes traveling costs a great deal, but I have been known to save for up to 5 years just to travel to a specific place. That place happened to be Scotland! Some of the other places I have traveled to include New Mexico, Colorado, California, New York (I saw the Diamond Backs play the Yankees!), Pennsylvania, Montreal, Canada, and Rocky Point, Mexico.
Finally, I needed to let you know where I stand in the sports department! My favorite all time sport to watch is baseball! I grew up watching the Albuquerque Dukes play minor league ball. When my son was old enough, he and I began to watch the Phoenix Firebirds play over in Scottsdale. As far a major league teams were concerned, my favorite was the Dodgers! Of course when the Diamond Backs came to our lovely metropolis, I began to watch and cheer for them.
Anything else you'd like to learn about me, come on in and ask! We love having parents volunteering and enjoying life with our class!
Sincerely,
Miss Chappell
