Homework Tips for Parents:
Set up a quiet place for your child to concentrate ie...away from areas with high traffic and noisy places near televisions, younger siblings, or loud radios.
Provide a dictionary/thesaurus and writing paper for the language homework, and provide scratch paper for math (the more room they have to work out problems the better chance they have of succeeding).
Check your child's work each night for correctly spelled words, complete sentences, and, with math, correct computation.
Let them know what they are doing correctly first, then help with areas they may find challenging.
Write a note to the teacher if your child is still having difficulties. This way the teacher can help them the following day.
